Artwork. Past and Present.

New Artwork!

These are from the last year and will also include some work from Art college.

This page will be the one that keeps changing.
When a drawing has been here for a while I will move it to
one of the Gallery pages to make room for new images!

book_cover_001.jpg

Matt Bellamy from the book cover.
New Year's Eve morning 2004, while watching the BFG.
This is black water colour paint-stick on artist's sketch paper.
It took me about 2 hours to do from start to finish.
It's a weird medium, it looks and feels like a black crayon,
then you get a wet paintbrush and go over it.
You can take the paint off or put more on just with the brush.
If you try this, remember not to have too much water on the brush
so have a paper towel nearby and just dab it on there before
applying to the paper.

Kissed By Calliope
kissed_by_calliope_001.jpg

This is just part of the picture I am working on at the moment.
It's Matthew Bellamy from Muse, looking down.
Beside him will be Calliope kissing him on the head.
Calliope is the Muse of song, poetry and art.
I still have yet to find a female face I feel is beautiful enough to depict her.

poster_001.jpg

Another image of Muse's frontman.
This is a ten minute sketch of a poster.
Minimum detail, 4B pencil on water colour paper.

The picture below inspired the poem beneath it.

soul_bottles_003.jpg

Soul Bottles.
We are bottles on the sand,
Fragile as glass,
Filled with a soul.
We give some of our soul to those we love,
We lose some of it to people that hurt us.
Sooner or later,
There is none left.
And we lay empty on the sand,
Staring blankly with dead eyes,
Out to sea.
